7 Things to remember when interviewing someone!

BE PREPARED FOR THE INTERVIEW:

1. Attitude must be positive!

2. Attire must be neat and orderly!

3. Be prepared to ask/answer questions!

4. Know the interviewee's name and work background!

5. Highlight expectations and benefits of company!

6. Have sitting area ready for interview!

7. Be polite, thank the interviewee, escort to front door!

1. Every day begins with your mental attitude, and a "Positive Mental Attitude" is needed whenever you are going to interact with someone else.

2. How you present yourself physically is as much tied to a person's perception of the importance of your "Role" as your attitude.

3. The sole purpose of an interview:

"Introduce" - "Inquire" - "Respond"

The company and the interviewee meet, "Introduce" themselves for the first time. There may be companies that give an informal tour of their facility, before sitting, meeting, and giving specific details about their company, its personal history, as well as expectations their company may have of their employees.

To "Inquire" about your interviewee's viability you need to have general questions ready to ask the interviewee in order to get a better understanding of their thinking.

Have general questions that best pertain to your company and its current work environment and be prepared for the interviewee to walk in with questions they intend to ask.

If your interview is informative there will be moments an unexpected question will be asked by the interviewee going through the interview process. Questions might just pop up and Your "Response" may be the difference in a "Good Candidate" wanting you to hire them as opposed to hoping you Never call them back.

4. Knowing the interviewee's name and having some knowledge of their work history to talk about during the interview is just common courtesy. Remembering a person's name throughout the interview, is showing that person respect in the moment.

5. Re-iterate the benefits of working for your company and the high expectations the company has of its employees.

6. Be sure the area you plan to sit in is free of clutter and organized.

7. Thank your interview for coming in and ask if there are any follow-up questions before leaving! Walk your interview to the front door and again, thank them for coming in, let them know they will hear something soon, and to have a great day!
