In this country (USA) the "Black" people have the unique distinction of having the choice of being considered an African American, or Black American. Interesting!
Looking from a "Historical" point of few, there are two (2) ways to look at these two black people. The African American "People" should be looked at from an Afrocentric point of few and use Africa as his/her point of reference.
On the other hand, the Black American "People" have incorporated the "American" concept of life into their own and have considered themselves to be the counterpart of the White American.
Throughout history it has become more and more evident that the personalities and attitudes amongst blacks are so different, and so unexpected, that justifiably we all can't possibly be put into the same category. For example:
As an African American I can look at great rulers that have come out of Africa such as Hannibal, Ruler of Carthage, one of history's greatest military minds. Shamba Bolongongo, African King of Peace. Nandy, Queen of Zululand or Makeda, Queen of Sheba. Queens whose beauty and strength can never be questioned.
These African "Leaders" are just a few that can be traced here to these United States of America.
Nat Turner, an African first, made slave second, led a large slave revolt. Some say the largest slave revolt in American History, at least of the revolts we are taught about.
Martin Luther King jr. an African first, tried to free the mental chains of "Slavery" from around the minds of his "People" through "Peace". There was no middle ground or exception, "Peace" was what he was going to live by or die by.
Unfortunately, he died entirely too young!
But Martin Luther King Jr's "Spirit" of "Peace" still lives, as does Shamba Bolongongo, African King of "Peace".
Rosa Parks and Harriet Tubman are two women with unquestionable African roots. These two women showed "Leadership" abilities, backbone, and courage at a time they weren't even supposed to be noticed, yet they were feared. They commanded respect, but more importantly, they demanded change. Specific change!
Now, from the Black American's perspective, the Black American's History started as soon as the first "Slave Ship" docked in harbors of these United States of America.
The Black American comes from a long line of Kings and Queens from Europe. The Medieval and Renaissance periods have produced "Leaders" for the Black Americans to follow. For example:
Richad III. His only objective was to wear the crown. Death by any means necessary were the only tools he needed to obtain his goal.
George Washington, the father of the Black Americans country. A country that was taken away from the original inhabitants (Native Americans) that were here before the "Rock" was named "Plymouth".
Abraham Lincoln, the man who freed the slaves, twice. "HMM" The "Thirteenth Amendment" or the Emancipation Proclamation. "HMM".
There are long lines of Presidents, Kings, and Queens with great Historical facts that come from European History, and I might also add that controversy always seem to be nearby. When I say controversy, I mean death, destruction, unnecessary pain and loss.
None of these "People" of Europe have anything in common with the Black American "People", but the Black American has been able to find a way to fit in. The only option the Black American has available, because there is no trace of European Royalty running through the blood of Black Americans.
At one time the Black American served a purpose that did not have the luxury of leaning on their "Heritage". This goes beyond black or white, or any other color of "People" in the rainbow.
The "History" of any race of "People" is as vital to that race of "People", as air is to us all.
Ultimately, the burden of coming together is on the shoulder of every black person that originated from Africa, and realize they are of African Descent.
All Africans in America did not come from the same tribes, or the same government that would have dictated laws, or rules in which to live by.
Even though we are still learning how to live with each other, the process of learning how to grow with each other must be made. All while the transformation from broken and beaten down man, to independent standing and thinking man collectively has been entirely too slow.
One's independence does not come from what another man allows, but from what you as a man are capable of gaining. In this case, of what were capable of gaining back as a race of "People".
With our own "Historical" point of view... Looking from a "Historical" point of view, we do have an "Objective", if we choose to pursue it.
HISTORY IS BEING MADE EVERYDAY/WITH OR WITHOUT YOU!
